January 07, 2013
In my opinion, January is one of the best months of the year to shop; you're stocked up on gift cards, the generous winter sales are still running, and all the new spring collections are beginning to pop up.
With a Starbuck's caramel macchiato in hand, I scored some awesome deals at Target once again. I decided I would try out the Downy Unstoppables in-wash laundry scent boosters after a recommendation from Youtube beauty guru Sam Schuerman. I loved her favorite scent which is Shimmer as it smells so sweet and girly. It was on sale for $6.99 and I also had a $1 off coupon clipped. I must say, that feeling when you find a sale and have a coupon to use on top of that is the ultimate high for a bargain shopper!
I also received the same deal on some feminine products as they were marked on sale and I had a coupon. Just a tip ladies, 99% of the time you can find coupons for pads and tampons in the Sunday paper or also online, so save yourself a couple bucks each month as it adds up!
Also at Target, I found an adorable pair of tweezers for $1 that I couldn't pass up. I like to keep an extra pair in my purse just in case my unruly eyebrows misbehave when I am out and about. I picked up the newest Kid Rock album to listen to in the car as he doesn't participate in music download websites. It was on sale for $11 which I thought was a steal for a CD. To complete my shopping list, I decided to try a facial cleanser from Pond's seeing as I really like their moisturizing cream that I have been using for a few months now.
Sally Beauty Supply
At Sally Beauty Supply, I picked up some hair dye and a small bottle of developer since I am getting the itch to change up the brunette. I've gone almost 6 months without coloring my hair because my roots blend well into the last color I had dyed it. Along with the new year, I want to try something fun now that my hair is in a really healthy state. My favorite brand right now is Age Beautiful and it's $5.99 a tube, sometimes cheaper when on sale. I chose the shade 3V which is a rich violet brown and a 20 volume developer for a slight lift (my hair is currently a level 3/4).
I also purchased a leave-in keratin treatment by the brand Hairtrition that I figured would be a good product to run through my hair on days I don't want to style it with mousse and hairspray. In the clearance section I found Orly's Halo nail polish from their holiday collection on sale for $3.99 which was another steal.
My thoughtful boyfriend gave me a Kindle Fire for Christmas, (which I still can't believe, he is so kind!) that I have been picking up cute accessories for. I found some mint colored headphones at this funky store called Five Below which sells fun odds and ends for $5 or less. I picked up a small tube pillow as well so I can comfortably use the tablet on my lap. I have been finding other accessories like screen protectors, chargers, and silicone cases for $3 or less with free shipping on eBay.
