Hair Journey 6.30.12 - Update #6
Please read my hair journey to see where I am starting from.
The photo above is the length of my hair as of 6.30.12
The length of my hair is noticeably beyond my shoulders now, even when curly. I decided I needed a change this month since my roots were getting long, so I used the L'Oreal Excellence HiColor dye in Intense Red. It's going to take a few more applications to get the red pigment to stay in my hair; it washed out a ton since I first colored it at the beginning of June. Overall, it's feeling pretty strong and looking a lot less frizzy after I gave it more attention. I think I got a full half inch of growth this month which makes me happy!
Products used:
Got 2b Crazysleek Flat Iron & Blow Dry Lotion
Regis Desigline Curl Lock Leave-in Moisturizer
Hot Tools 1043 Tourmaline Ionic Lite Hair Dryer
ghd Gold Professional 1 inch Flat Iron
Routine:
Straightened about 3 times this month
No Aphogee treatment
Deep conditioned with every wash
Let hair air dry more often
Health:
85%
Some flyaways
Texture is improved
Feels less dry and more silky
Other:
After increasing the amount of times I conditioned my hair, I feel like it definitely regained it's smooth texture.
It did not shed a lot in the shower or during brushing compared to last month.
It did not shed a lot in the shower or during brushing compared to last month.
I also didn't wash my hair as often, which helped it to soak in more natural oils.
I stopped the daily multivitamin, however my water intake and diet was good this month.
After coloring my hair, it looked more healthy, shiny, and was easier to style.
I bought a new shampoo that I believe really helped it get back on track; I will be reviewing it soon.
If it continues to improve, I will probably color it again in a week or two.

Love the red! I had mine this colour and it was a bugger to keep, but since dying it blonde I have found that the best shampoo and conditioner is Dove Intense Repair. Since using this, my hair has improved by 100% :)
ReplyDeleteJust read your journey and let me tell you I have been there. I have had a few disasters myself and it is awful because it's your hair and you can't really hide it. I have been using lots of 100% pure coconut oil on my roots and my ends. I recently went darker to hide my roots and to not have to dye my hair anymore. Well it went a lot darker and the offset to repair the color damaged my hair. So I am noticing some thinner areas around my face and some breakage that I didn't have even when bleaching my hair.
ReplyDeleteLove the series!
Thank you for the support! It definitely is a journey but despite what anyone says, you can turn your hair around. I'm going to review a few of my favorite conditioners soon that I swear by, they might help you too!
DeleteWow, your hair is growing long and fast Jordan :) congrats!
