Why Tone Your Face? Olay Oil Minimizing Toner - Review
This is the Oil Minimizing Toner by Olay. It's purpose is to remove any leftover oil, dirt or makeup from the face after cleansing. This product has been around for a good while, as Olay has been taking care of skin old and young since 1949.
Why Use a Toner?
I never used any sort of toner until I learned the importance in beauty school. They not only further purify your skin, but also balance out the pH level and prevent any extra sebum (aka. that shiny oil we see on the face) from forming. It's also just a great thing to use because depending on the ingredients in the toner, it can also help with acne, wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, scars, and other flaws on the face. Having combination skin, this was a product I definitely needed to include in my routine- and since doing so it has made a big difference.
I find that when applying this toner right after my cleanser and before my moisturizer, it does help to prevent some excess oil from appearing on my face throughout the day. It is nothing dramatic, however the results are just enough for me to notice I don't need to powder or blot as often when wearing makeup.
I'ts surprising how much residue is left on the skin even after using a cleanser. Using a toner will take off that very last layer, revealing fresh and truly clean skin. I like to pour a small amount on a cotton round and apply it to both my face and neck. It is also great in spray bottle to be used as a mist for a nice 'pick me up' on days when you leave your face natural.
Ingredients
What is especially great about this toner is the short and uncomplicated list of ingredients. I find the formula to be so gentle that it doesn't even bother my eyes. It is not drying like some other toners can be, and also leaves my skin feeling really soft.
The main ingredients that will aid your skin are:
Witch Hazel- An anti-oxidant used as an astringent to help repair skin and fight bacteria (curing acne).
Aloe Leaf Juice- An anti-inflammatory that soothes and brightens the skin.
Castor Oil-Keeps skin looking youthful and fresh, smooths scar tissue, and even helps to prevent acne.
Where to Find
I discovered it first in the skincare aisle of my Target and was attracted to the pretty sea green coloring and the low price tag. It is available where most Olay products are sold, which includes drugstores, Wal-marts, and online stores. It's availability and overall quality makes me repurchase this product every time I run out.
I found this toner the cheapest at Ulta.com for $3.39! I will definitely be ordering it from there for now on.
Is a toner a part of your skincare routine? If so, what are your favorites?

I like to use toners when I wear a lot of makeup the day before. I like the price of this, I'll have to pick it up next time I'm at target.

ReplyDeletegreat review!
ReplyDeleteI used to use the simple toner and at first I thought it was just like water but it really does help x
Got this last week and i love it!! Especially in summer my skin is very oily and i use it in the morning and before i go to sleep. I love the fresh, clean feeling it leaves on my skin and it seems to shrink the pores, even if just temporarily.

Definitely imagine that which you stated. Your favorite
ReplyDeletejustification appeared to be on the web the easiest factor
to consider of. I say to you, I certainly get irked while
other folks consider issues that they plainly do
not realize about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top as well
as outlined out the whole thing without having side-effects , other
people can take a signal. Will likely be back to get more.
Thank you
