Nars Illuminator in Orgasm - Review & Swatches
Review
This is a sample tube of the Nars Illuminator that is called the ever so popular 'Orgasm'. The suggestive name and universally flattering shade makes it a color almost every makeup fiend has in their collection. This product basically looks like a melted, liquid form of the blush. It of course applies more sheer, and when dried takes on almost a rose gold color.
Filled with micro glitters, it glistens in the light and gives a nice warm glow wherever it's applied which can be normal highlighting areas of the face, or even the chest and shoulders. Up close in the tube, I would describe it as a dark pink bronze with deep gold shimmers.
Formula
When first applied, it feels like a very thin, watered down texture. It blends out smoothly and leaves a light finish on the skin. The color is most noticeable when it hits the light, and the illumination really takes effect. It does take a bit to dry so I would give it time to do so to prevent smudging. Some even mix this with their foundation for a slightly tinted and glowing look to their foundation. It is pretty long lasting; although it did sink into my skin a little bit after a few hours of wear.
This is one of those products that is great for low key days, and also when you want to highlight a full face of makeup. I can see myself tossing this in a beach bag and before heading off the sand just swiping some on my cheekbones, down the nose, and under the brow for a beautiful, fresh look. It also works great as part of a more sophisticated makeup look as a light blush or an all over highlight color.

I got this 8mL sample in a Birchbox months ago. It is available full size at Sephora, Narscosmetics.com, Nordstrom, and other online retailers as $30 for 1.1 ounces. Definitely a more expensive face product for the amount; however it's ability to highlight all over the body as well as it's high quality formula makes it worth it in my book. There are also 3 other shades to choose from that I would love to try if I was rich.
I also have a review on the e.l.f. blush in 'Candid Coral' that is an almost exact dupe of the Nars 'Orgasm' powder blush.
This iconic shade is truly gorgeous, and I would recommend picking up the Illuminator to try if you haven't yet. It's a great summer staple for fresh and dewy looking skin.

I love to use liquid highlighters like this one on the tops of my cheekbones and around the eye orbits on the temples... it really gives such a summery freshness to any makeup look. Thanks for the review, I must have this!!
